Using Custom Fields to Merge Personalised Content into your eCampaign

What are Custom Fields?

Custom fields are used to populate personalised content in your eCampaigns

Example:

The following line in your eCampaign:

Dear $$contact_salutation$$

Woiuld appear in the following format when the email reaches the recipient:

Dear Jane

Or whatever the name of the recipient happens to be.

A set of custom field tags are available that will pull in data from the database and merge it into your eCampaign. The following custom field tags are available:

$$CONTACT_EMAIL_ADDRESS$$ - Recipient's email address.

$$CONTACT_SALUTATION$$ - First name of the recipient (or the format selected in the mailing list properties.

$$ECAMPAIGN_NAME$$ - The name you gave to your eCampaign.

$$MY_ORGANISATION_NAME$$ - The name of your organisation.

$$MY_ADDRESS$$ - Your full postal address.

$$ECAMPAIGN_WEB_VIEW_LINK$$ - Link to show your eCampaign on the web.

$$ECAMPAIGN_SUBSCRIBE_LINK$$ - Link to the web page where a person can enter their details in order to subscribe to the mailing list.

$$ECAMPAIGN_UNSUBSCRIBE_LINK$$ - Link to the web page where the recipient can unsubscribe from your mailing lists.

$$ECAMPAIGN_FORMWARD_EMAIL$$ - Issues the mailto: command in order for the email to be forwarded to a specified email address.

$$MY_FACEBOOK_PAGE_URL$$ - The URL of your Facebook web page.

$$MY_TWITTER_PAGE_URL$$ - The URL of your Twitter web page.

$$MY_LINKED_IN_PAGE_URL$$ - The URL of your LinkedIn web page.

$$MY_PINTEREST_PAGE_URL$$ - The URL of your Pinterest web page.

$$MY_YOUTUBE_PAGE_URL$$ - The URL of your YouTube web page.

$$MY_INSTAGRAM_PAGE_URL$$ - The URL of your Instagram web page.

Add a Custom Field

To insert a custom field in to your eCampaign:

1. Open the eCampaign you would like to work with and click the Design breadcrumb.

2. Place the cursor at the point in your eCampaign you would like the custom field inserting, and then click on the custom field toolbar button:

3. Select the custom field you would like to insert from the dropdown list:

4. Click the OK button. The custom field will be inserted in the specified location in your eCampaign. This custom tag will be replaced with live data, at the point your eCampaign is sent.
